Pri­or to join­ing Metageno­mi, Kapil held lead­er­ship posi­tions in Clin­i­cal Devel­op­ment at Auto­lus, Dai­ichi Sankyo and Bay­er, lead­ing mul­ti­ple Phase 1 – 3 piv­otal pro­grams in Hematology/​Oncol­o­gy which result­ed in suc­cess­ful approvals. Pri­or to join­ing the Indus­try, as Direc­tor of Hemo­phil­ia Treat­ment Cen­ters in Boston and Okla­homa, he was close­ly involved in tak­ing care of patients with Hemo­phil­ia and oth­er Bleed­ing dis­or­ders as a clin­i­cal hematologist.

He com­plet­ed his Res­i­den­cy in Pedi­atrics from Case West­ern Reserve Uni­ver­si­ty, Cleve­land and his Fel­low­ship in Hema­tol­ogy and Oncol­o­gy at Ohio State Uni­ver­si­ty, Colum­bus. Pri­or to that, he received his MS in Phar­ma­col­o­gy and Tox­i­col­o­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Minnesota.
