Ken Takeshita, MD
Dr. Ken Takeshita brings to Metagenomi Therapeutics a wealth of experience as a biopharmaceutical executive, translational medicine and clinical development expert. Most recently, Dr. Takeshita was the Global Head of Research & Development for Daiichi Sankyo, responsible for leading the organization’s global research and clinical development strategy.
Chief Scientific and Medical Advisor: Former Global Head of Research & Development for Daiichi Sankyo and Former Head of Clinical Development, Kite Pharma (now part of Gilead Sciences, Inc.)
His previous roles include interim R&D Head and Head of Global Clinical Development at Kite Pharma (now part of Gilead Sciences, Inc.), Senior Vice President of Clinical Research and Development at Sorrento Therapeutics, Corporate Vice President of Clinical Research and Development at Celgene Corporation (now part of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company), and Medical Director at Amgen.
Dr. Takeshita served on the faculty in Hematology at Yale University School of Medicine and New York University School of Medicine. He completed his MD at Yale University and post-doctoral training at Yale and the University of Tokyo.
