Simon Harnest joined Metageno­mi in July 2021. He has over a decade of expe­ri­ence in biotech cap­i­tal mar­kets and was most recent­ly CIO of Cel­lec­tis, where he was instru­men­tal in orches­trat­ing the NAS­DAQ list­ings for both Cel­lec­tis (CLLS) and its sub­sidiary Calyxt (CLXT), rais­ing over $600 mil­lion for both com­pa­nies, as well as advis­ing on cor­po­rate strategy.

Pri­or to Cel­lec­tis, Simon was Vice Pres­i­dent at the Trout Group and Trout Cap­i­tal, now Sole­bury Trout, a lead­ing investor rela­tions and cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ca­tions firm focused on the life sci­ences. Simon is a reg­is­tered rep­re­sen­ta­tive and holds a Mas­ter of Sci­ence degree in Pub­lic Health from the Lon­don School of Eco­nom­ics and Polit­i­cal Science.
